Brick House

BRIEF: We were approached by a family to design a three-bedroom house for them in Forest Lane.  

Natalia Zwardon Studio designed the full house, including the narrative of the project, the spatial elements and the materials to be used throughout.

This design was true to our ethos of collaboration, with client communication throughout the project to ensure we created the perfect space for them as a family. Our clients were clear that a large part of their family-life was entertaining Guests. Their guests often meet and sit in the kitchen while the hosts cook, but they were concerned about the smells of cooking overpowering their Guests’ experiences and their home. 

We designed the kitchen space so that it was closer to the exterior access/egress to allow excellent ventilation. We made the kitchen the focus of the ground floor and moved other communal spaces to the basement level. This planning made the kitchen, the hub and heart of their home and created enough space for the family to entertain.

Our clients were delighted with the careful consideration we had taken in their design, and the project is currently under construction.
